I strongly believe that every challenge we face makes us better persons. Every failure gives us important lessons and every win empower us with new strengths.
Every day, any given company faces challenges and issues. We as well, as individuals, face challenges and issues every day. So do our customers.
In order to help others and ourselves, we have to answer these key questions every day, reminding us of who we really are?
- Are you (or are you becoming) part of the solution to a problem, or part of the problem?
- Before you reach out to a customer, do you feel deep down inside you, that everything is going to be fine, or you fear for the opposite?
Do you monitor your actions to see every time how that “feeling” of yours affects your actions?
- Are you a moving profit center?
Do you constantly work towards creating value for your customer, your company and yourself?
- Do you happen to be a cost center?
Does your actions result in losses for everyone involved, that including you as well?
- Do you sell according your company’s procedures and rules, or you sell no matter what, regardless if your sale doesn’t produce any profit for your company?
- When there is nothing urgent to do, no job at hand, do you try do improve yourself constantly, or you’re just biding your time doing nothing?
Do you improve your work surroundings, so when time will be of an essence again, you will be more productive and prepared?
- Do you understand the concept of sowing, cultivating and harvesting in sales?
A farmer first of all, finds the night field to sow. Then, he prepares the field, holing it. In due time, he sows.
Cultivates the field all the time, fertilises it. When time comes, he harvests.
The day of the sowing is far from the day of the harvest, but if some body wants to have a harvest, he has to sow first, cultivate and wait for the right day to get the fruits of his work.
- Are you a wise farmer? Do you learn from your mistakes? Are you working like a prudent ant or as a lazy cicada ?
- Are you proud of what you do? Your profession and your work?
Why?
Asking all these really personal questions to yourself, will help you grow, become more productive and make you feel fulfilled at the end of each day.
